Karen is the Managing Director of STAR Physical Therapy, bringing over 21 years of dedicated service and leadership to our team. Since joining STAR Physical Therapy in May 2003, Karen has played an integral role in shaping the organization’s success. She has a proven track record in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and patient care.
Her journey at STAR began as the Executive Vice President of Operations, Patient Relations, and Marketing, a role she excelled in for over two decades. Her responsibilities included developing and implementing strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, streamlining workflows, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing resources, and leading a motivated team. Karen’s expertise in risk management and her commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and patient care have been pivotal in STAR’s growth and reputation.
In addition to her role at STAR, Karen has been a part-time Executive Board Member at Betta Place, Inc. since January 2001. Her work involves maintaining the foundation’s operations, developing anti-bullying curriculums, and raising funds. Before her tenure at STAR, Karen served as a School Counselor at St. Gabriel’s Catholic School, where she developed counseling programs, provided crisis intervention, and collaborated with parents and teachers to support student success. She also worked with the Austin Independent School District on a TCADA grant, focusing on peer education and community outreach to support at-risk students.
Outside of her professional achievements, Karen enjoys spending quality time with her family. She cherishes moments with her husband Jon, her daughter Skylar, and her son Sterling. Whether exploring the outdoors, participating in community events, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Karen values the time spent with her loved ones.
